Alaska Earthquake - Rattles Anchorage, Southcentral Alaska

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake rattled buildings in Anchorage on Wednesday morning. The earthquake occurred at 10:19am local time (2:19pm EDT) Wednesday and was centered 31 miles west of Anchorage and 15 miles northeast of the village of Tyonek.

The West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center says the quake did not generate a tsunami.

7.6 Magnitue Earthquake struck off Andaman Islands (Video)

A massive earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 struck off India's Andaman Islands on Tuesday morning. A second earthquake, which generated a tsunami and injured dozens of people, struck Japan only minutes later.

That's was scary. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said Monday that a regional tsunami watch is in place for India, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh.
